If you read but 1 page, let it be "BIG Worries Ahead!"
This one you will not believe!
When you buy into this community it's just luck of the draw who you'll wind up living next door to. Unfortunately for us we wound up living next door to a couple who own two dogs. My wife and I love dogs - we were both raised with them. But our next-door neighbors allow their two dogs to crap on their front lawn and they never clean up after them, leaving their feces where they drop. We complained to the resident park manager who visited our neighbors and told them of our complaint - and told them that it was us who lodged the complaint against them. The next morning I was accosted by the lady next door who went near-berserk screaming denials and pushing her face into mine. If I hadn't walked away that out-of-control woman would have turned the encounter into a physical assault.
The dog feces continued to pile up next door so I complained directly to our Home Owners Association. Shortly thereafter the tale reached a surprising twist when a rep of the park owner visited me to discuss the matter. But what they said set off a firestorm! The exec actually looked me in the eye and said I'm being unreasonable for objecting to living next to a lawn strewn with dog crap.
Now, get this (I just love this part): Then he held his hand about a yard off the ground and said "If it was piled up to here it would be unreasonable."" I replied "That''s a pile of dog crap about 36 inches high that you say is unreasonable. So if their pile is only 35 inches deep it''s reasonable?" He realized that I had him cornered and had proved how looney his argument was, so he just kept saying "You''re being unreasonable" and refused to discuss it further. So there you have it: management will tolerate a pile of dog crap up to 35 inches high in your neighbor's front yard and there's nothing you can do about it!
So, here's the situation: We spent about $125,000 to buy a new Nobility home and live Walden Woods South, the newest, and considered to be the swankiest of the Walden Woods communities, and we wound up living next door to people with the filthy habit of stockpiling four loads of dog crap on their lawn daily. And management refuses to do about it! No matter, my unsanitary neighbors are now under investigation by the Citrus County Animal Control, an arm of the Sherrif's Department.
"The sales reps sold us all a phoney bill of goods from day one!" (I can't reveal who made this direct quote but it's someone in a high position who definitely knows!)
