If you read but 1 page, let it be "BIG Worries Ahead!"
"The sales reps sold us all a phoney bill of goods from day one!" (I can't reveal who made this direct quote but it's someone in a high position who definitely knows!)
At approximately 1:30 A.M. on January 4, 2011, thieves freely roamed around our housing complex then, while we slept under the delusion that we were safe, stole a car parked in a driveway and attempted to break into at least eight or nine other homes. Police (911) were called.
Walden Woods is advertised as a "gated" community that offers seniors a safe and secure retirement. Not so! It's unfenced and the gates remain open to the public - contrary to what is promised in their brochures and ads. We've had thefts and middle-of-the-night prowlers just like any inner-city community. And Homosassa is home to a large homeless population as well as a large number of sex offenders and pedophiles (One of the nation's most notorious child molestors lived and worked closeby when he kidnapped, raped and murdered a young girl. He died in prison awaiting execution. This is the real Homosassa!
Walden Woods residents are now considering their options. One installed security lights governed by a motion sensor. Others may do the same or more. Some are armed and some covertly carry concealed handguns. A number of homes are for sale - one at half-price because he's eager to leave. Yet the gates are left open to the public and no amount of crime or resident protests can get the management to close them - it appears that CRF is willing to sacrifice the safety of the present residents to sell more homes to more unsuspecting seniors. It really won't hurt CRF because they're bankrupt (so who're you gonna sue?) and looking to sell the complex. Lovely, they take our money then run.
THE BOTTOM LINE: Don't believe the sales brochures or sales staff. As a new incoming resident complained: "They get you to sign the contract and hand over your check but don't tell you that they're bankrupt! That's unfair!"
